GIFTdb: A Comprehensive Gene Database for Plant Fruit Trait Improving
35,365 genes for 120 species
OVERVIEW
GIFTdb is a dataset of 35,365 fruit trait-related genes, which has been established through the following efforts: (i) we manually screened 896 genes related to fruit traits from FR Database 1.0; (ii) we collected 30,882 fruits related literature published between 2014 and 2021, from which 305 genes related to fruit traits were artificially identified; (iii) we constructed a search term centered on 'fruit' and manually selected 236 fruit trait-related genes from the UniPort Database; (iv) we have identified 33,928 homologous genes using the artificially screened genes as a reference; (v) we obtained gene name, sequence and protein interaction from NCBI and UniPort database according to NCBI gene ID and UniPort Entry to annotate the genes; (vi) more importantly, we labeled the data for fruit traits according to the literature description. Finally, based on this data, we integrated tools such DNAWorks, BLAST, and WoLF to develop GIFTdb.
